We don’t call this our Scottish Choice for nothing! Enjoy the full sweep of Scotland’s beauty with one night in Oban, two nights on the Isle of Skye and a final night by the shore of Loch Ness. You’ll get to know Scottish history and culture and have time to experience the places you visit.

Day 1: Through the Trossachs to Oban
Our wide-ranging tour starts by heading west through the beautiful scenery of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park to Kilmartin Glen. Here you’ll explore Scotland’s ancient past. With over 5,000 years of history laid out before you, you’ll be able to walk in the footsteps of the first Scots at Dunadd Hill Fort and the Temple Wood Stone Circle. Then it’s on the picturesque seaside town of Oban, home to Scotland’s best seafood!

Day 2: Gruesome Glens and Glenfinnan Viaduct
Day two takes you over the Connel Bridge through Appin to the haunting landscape of Glen Coe (scene of the terrible massacre of the MacDonald Clan). We’ll stop in Fort William for lunch then you jump aboard the Hogwarts Express (departures May – September) for the stunning journey, we will then have time in Mallaig before (on some dates) we will board a ferry over to the Isle of Skye.
On departures between May & September the tour will include a one way journey on the Jacobite Steam Train. On other departures the tour will include a cruise on Loch Ness and visit to Urquhart Castle.

Day 3: A whole day to explore Skye
You’ll have the whole of the third day to explore Skye’s mysteries and landscape. Here the mountains and beaches beckon, so lose yourself amongst the Cuillin Mountains, take in the spectacular scenery of the Kilt rock waterfall, The Old Man of Storr and the Trotternish Peninsula, including a visit to the capital of the island, Portree.

Day 4: Castles, lochs and elusive monsters
We’ll leave Skye and head straight to Scotland’s most photographed castle, Eilean Donan* which you’ll have ample time to explore. We will then head towards Loch Ness – the world’s most famous Loch. Here you will enjoy exploring Urquhart Castle and then a boat cruise on the Loch (optional extra).

Day 5: Historic battlefields and
Today we’ll travel to the battlefield of Culloden* the site of the defeat of the Jacobite forces. We will also explore Clava Cairns, a group of Prehistoric Burial Cairns, a site that inspired the Outlander series. On your way south you could maybe enjoy a wee dram at a local distillery*. Then you’ll pass the stunning Cairngorm Mountains and be able to explore the picturesque town of Pitlochry before arriving back in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
